This is definitely not the place to go for serenity and peace. Anjuna – one huge dance floor where the music and fun never die down, day or night.
This famed lively little village is located 18 kilometers from Panaji, in northern Goa. It is often called the “pearl” or the heart of the state. The “party scene” was born here during the spread of the hippie movement, whose followers were searching for “another life” without schedules, work, or obligations. In search of their happiness, they found themselves on a coast with the most beautiful sunset in the world.
One-off gatherings turned into a tradition, and many began coming to Goa for Christmas. However, these free-spirited lovers of wandering were in no hurry to leave, staying for a month, a year, or even a lifetime. They spent their evenings by the fire, with drums and guitars, giving rise to modern Goan trance.
The beaches here are not the coziest: small and rocky. But people came and still come here not at all to lounge comfortably on the shore. A lazy beach holiday can be found by renting a scooter and driving a little farther along the coast.
Painted palm trees, an endless strip of cafes, the newest trance mixes - that is what those diagnosed with Goa syndrome need. Each of them strives to get to the next “secret party,” because each new one is обязательно better than the previous one.
Freaks, as a rule, gather at Curlie’s cafe. Glamorous clubs: “Paradiso”, Shore Bar, Shiva Valley, Gagarin. Farther away, on a hill in Anjuna, is the Hill Top club. And 2 kilometers from the village stretches Vagator Beach, where Eight Bar is worth visiting.
