White as starch sand and black rocks… On some days you can walk far along the shoreline and not meet a single person on the way, but sometimes there are so many tourists that places in the shacks (beach huts) need to be reserved. And yet those seeking solitude and peace will like it here, since Cavelossim Beach is cleaner and quieter than most of the famous beaches in Goa.
It is named after the village, which is also nicknamed the "fishermen's village." On one side is the Indian Ocean, and on the other is the Sal River, where at low tide local residents collect oysters and mussels from the silt.
You can also take on the role of fishermen yourself: the local restaurant will gladly cook your own fresh catch for you. By the way, the Goan cuisine dishes on the beach are very tasty.
There is plenty of entertainment here: beach sports, trips to dolphin habitats and birdwatching for migratory birds, karting. You can dance until morning at the open-air disco by the sea or visit the picturesque rice fields located nearby. Local markets offer a variety of souvenirs, including ones made by local artisans.
