One of the most popular beaches in Phuket is Kata Beach, which is located approximately 20 kilometers from Phuket Town, between Karon and Nai-Harn beaches.

500 meters from the shore there is a small rocky islet, Pu, which you can easily swim to, although it is uninhabited and serves only as a decorative feature.
The sea in this area is shallow and safe: to fully submerge and swim "like an adult," you need to go at least 50 meters from the shore. This is another reason why families with children often come here.
