Whoever came up with the phrase “Not for anything in the world!” most likely had simply never been to the “A.Blikle” pastry shop ;)
Like in many European cities, Warsaw also has its own historic pastry shops. Like old photographs in an album, they only become more valuable with the years! And one of them is the “A.Blikle” pastry shop.
It has been operating in the city center since 1869. It was named after its founder, Antoniego Kazimierza Bliklego. In 1974, in addition to pastries, he also began baking doughnuts. They were what made him famous! Even today, people line up at the pastry shop for these sweets. If you do not have time to have breakfast at the hotel, be sure to come here in the morning. You will be offered fresh muffins, pastries, slices of cake, and doughnuts in chocolate glaze.
The interior matches its age: Vienna chairs, wooden panels, green wallpaper, and sofas in the same shade. Old photographs, vintage lamps, and a large mirror in a slightly worn frame hang on the walls.
Prices at “A.Blikle” are quite reasonable, so you can stop in for tea every day. If, of course, you are not worried about your figure. The desserts here are simply too delicious! They certainly cannot be compared with those sold in supermarkets and fast-food places.
