Precious bowls, antique vases, diamond-studded tiaras – all this splendor is dazzling! Realizing that many of them were gifts from men to their beloved women, you can't help thinking about how beautifully people used to court in the past. The Silver Museum occupies 25 halls in the left wing of Pitti Palace. Here you can see antique 18th-century goblets adorned with precious stones, silver, and enamel, jewelry from the 17th–20th centuries, a magnificent diamond tiara made in 1900, ivory objects, as well as much, much more.
Cosimo the Elder was the first to start collecting jewelry in the 15th century. His son Piero expanded the collection, and his grandson Lorenzo the Magnificent managed to enrich it with the rarest and oldest exhibits. One of the most valuable categories is Lorenzo's vases, which have great historical and artistic value.
