King Rama IX Park is extremely popular with local residents. The park does not have any particular historical or cultural attractions, except perhaps a very beautiful bridge over the lake and an old sundial. Its main value is the atmosphere.
This extremely beautiful, well-kept, and cozy park is perfect for a leisurely walk, reading a good book in the shade of sprawling old trees, or meditative contemplation of the beauty of nature. Broad shaded alleys wind around lakes with fountains, protecting people from the heat of the tropical sun.
In the park, you can rent a catamaran and ride across the mirror-like surface of the lake. Paradoxically, the calm and peaceful atmosphere of the park is not disturbed in the slightest by the huge number of visitors.
King Rama IX Park is considered the best place in the city for sports and exercise. Many people run along the park's paths, and young people ride bicycles and skateboards. There are several well-equipped courts for basketball and volleyball, as well as lawns for active games, for example, frisbee or badminton.
A large part of King Rama IX Park is devoted to outdoor exercise equipment. There is a great deal of equipment here, covering almost all muscle groups, and all of it looks completely new and works perfectly. People happily exercise in the fresh air, because it is absolutely free and much more pleasant than working out in a stuffy gym!
