The best way to see Phuket Town is from the viewpoint on Rang Hill. At an altitude of 140 meters, wonderful panoramas open up. From here you can see almost all the surroundings of the city from the southern side, as well as the Andaman Sea and the nearby islands.
In the past, the rear boundary of the city ran here, and this place was literally called the "Mountain at the Back," but over time Phuket Town expanded, and now tourists flock here to relax and enjoy the wonderful views.
At the top there are several small restaurants, the most notable of which is "Tung Ka," where you can sample traditional Thai cuisine. You will also be offered a fairly good selection of European dishes and soft drinks.
You will see a monument to one of Phuket's former governors, Phraya Ratsadanuphradit, who governed these lands at the beginning of the 20th century and had a significant influence on the region's economic growth.
For lovers of active recreation, a small fitness park with jogging tracks and exercise equipment has been organized on Rang Hill. On the green grass in the park, you can simply lie down or have a picnic by bringing food with you.
Monkeys are often found here, so it is better to hide valuables and jewelry well away from the thieving monkeys.
