Essentially, Hong Kong Park in the Central district is a large aviary (a bird enclosure). Strolling among the ponds and in the shade of the trees, you may suddenly discover a huge parrot here.
The total area of the aviary is 3 thousand square meters, the number of bird species represented is 90, and there are about 600 individual birds. The park is designed like a mountain gorge in a tropical forest, with the highest point at 30 meters. Throughout the entire perimeter of the aviary, walkways are set up at different heights for visitors to move along while observing the birds. Some bridges are at the height of the treetops and create excellent conditions for wildlife photography. You have probably never seen cameras with such huge lenses, in such numbers, and in one place before!
Hong Kong Park has won many prestigious awards in international design competitions. It features cascades of fountains, waterfalls, and ponds. Lilies bloom in the ponds, swans swim, spotted carp and enormous turtles live there, and they are not afraid of people and allow themselves to be petted. The most amazing thing, however, is that this "island" of jungle is wedged between skyscrapers in the very heart of the metropolis, and many visitors to Hong Kong, without even suspecting that the park exists, walk right past it along the city streets.
