This event is given a special role: a person not only enjoys the taste of tea, but also takes a break from daily concerns and thoughts. You can take part in it at the House-Museum of Tea Ware, a unique institution and a striking attraction of Hong Kong.
The building itself, located in a most picturesque spot on the shore of the bay, sets a special mood: snow-white, built in the middle of the XIX century, it looks graceful and elegant. It is hard to believe that the structure was once called barracks and served as headquarters for accommodating British troops.
The museum's exhibits are diverse: from the history of tea leaf cultivation to interior items, attributes of the tea-drinking ceremony, and kitchen utensils. Clay, ceramics, porcelain — they reflect different periods in the development of China. By the way, samples of tableware from the Jin dynasty that are more than a thousand years old are presented here.
