The Dusit Palace complex, built in the late 19th to early 20th centuries during the reign of King Rama V, remains to this day the main unofficial residence of almost all the kings of Thailand. The complex covers 70 square kilometers, and there are many functional buildings on its grounds. One of them, Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall, was built in 1904 in the eastern part of Vimanmek Throne Hall.
Until the end of the 20th century, Abhisek Dusit was used for its original purpose: for ceremonial events, for example, receptions for important foreign ambassadors. In 1993, Queen Sirikit of Thailand decided to establish a museum here dedicated to the national art and crafts of her country.
After a major restoration, the Throne Hall became accessible to all visitors wishing to get a closer look at the traditional crafts of Thailand. In this building, modest by royal standards, you will be able to see examples of Thai decorative and applied arts - embroidery, silk изделия, silver and gold jewelry, and other valuable items. In addition, with the support of Queen Sirikit, an exhibition of works of art created with the participation of members of the royal family has been organized here.
