Hua Lamphong Station in Bangkok is not only a strategic transportation hub, but also an interesting city attraction. It is located right in the center of the capital, and from here you can travel in almost any direction within the country and beyond.
Every day the railway station serves more than 60 thousand passengers, and the service here is very fast and convenient. But even if you are not planning to leave the capital of Thailand, it is still worth taking a walk to Hua Lamphong. The station building was designed by architect Mario Tamagno, the author of the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, and is executed in the same Italian Neo-Renaissance style.
The space of the main hall stretches beneath a high, gently sloping dome that lets in plenty of light and creates a sense of openness and lightness. On the outside, the building is decorated with columns and a balustrade, and on both sides of the central vestibule are three-story office premises of the railway station administration. Inside the main hall you will find several fast-food outlets, small shops, and kiosks selling newspapers and souvenirs.
