The photography museum in Bangkok is the only one in Asia, so it can be considered a unique attraction, especially since there really is plenty to see there. It is based at Chulalongkorn University, in the Faculty of Science building. Assembling a collection devoted exclusively to photographic art may seem like a rather bold decision at first glance, yet it proved justified, and the narrowly focused museum became popular.
Here you will be able to see how the technology of making photographs developed and how cameras evolved - from huge boxes of the early 20th century to modern ultra-compact devices. You will get acquainted with the most modern shooting methods and see 3D photos and large-scale panoramic shots. The basic principles of taking high-quality photographs and the play of light and shadow will be explained to you in an engaging way.
The exhibitions at the Museum of Imaging Technology captivate not only professional photographers, but also history lovers, because most of the important events that took place over the last century and a half were captured on camera. A multitude of archival photographs show different moments in the development of humanity - tragic and comic, ordinary and epoch-making. In the museum shop, you can purchase informative literature and video materials.
