The Royal Thai Air Force Museum, founded in 1952, tells the story of the creation and development of Thailand's air force. The museum's collection features numerous aircraft that were once in service with the state and played an important role in ensuring national security.
Despite tourist stereotypes and the exotic setting, Thailand has always been quite a powerful militaristic country in its region. Unlike other countries in Southeast Asia, this state has never lost its independence. And although the history of Thailand is not one of constant wars, there were enough conflicts for strong armed forces to take shape in the country.
At the Air Force Museum, you will see original and reconstructed aircraft displayed in several hangars. One of the buildings houses aircraft from the Second World War, as well as projects by Thai designers.
In another hangar, you can see unique and rare examples of technology. Some of the aircraft presented in the museum exist in only a single экземпляre, for example, the Japanese training Tachigawa or the American Vought O2U Corsair.
There are also helicopters, jet and transport aircraft here, as well as a large collection of aviation equipment.
