In Espoo, a satellite city of Helsinki, there is one of the largest automobile museums in Europe. It features well over a hundred exhibits: cars, motorcycles, mopeds, and bicycles from different eras and manufacturers vividly show visitors how, and in what direction, the global automotive industry changed throughout the 20th century.
This is undoubtedly one of those museums that will be equally interesting for both children and adults. It is housed in a spacious two-story garage built in 1915 on the shore of Lake Bodom. It has everything from little-known Finnish cars to legendary American models of the 1950s, from mass-produced automobiles to exclusive examples. In addition to the permanent exhibition, a variety of themed (and not so themed) events are held here — temporary exhibitions, agricultural fairs, moped races, and much more.
