Jumbo Kingdom is nothing less than a symbol of tourist Hong Kong. It was built back in 1976 and is a huge three-deck ship moored in Aberdeen Harbour. “Jumbo Kingdom” is one of the largest floating restaurants in the world. It got its name from the giant elephant Jumbo, a frequent character in Eastern fairy tales.
Jumbo Kingdom can only be reached by special boats that go to Aberdeen Bay. The ship looks especially mesmerizing after dark, when multicolored lanterns light up on it, illuminating the wood carvings and the red dragons that decorate the ship.
The restaurant's menu consists mainly of Chinese dishes, but the special “highlight” of this place is that they can catch, clean, and serve any kind of seafood right before the visitor's eyes. This is not a cheap pleasure, but it is worth visiting Jumbo at least once.
