A distinctive feature of this museum is that here you can not only look at its exhibits, but also see how they are created – the collection includes a doll-making workshop. By the way, you can also buy them there.
The factory-museum, which has existed for more than half a century, was founded by master Khunying Thongkorn Chanthawimol, who studied her art at the famous Japanese school Ozawa Doll School. For her talent and refined craftsmanship, the founder of the museum received an award from the king of Thailand himself! In addition, this doll collection was recognized as the best of all those presented in Krakow, Poland, in 1978.
The dolls' outfits are created in full accordance with the traditions of folk costumes; they tell both about the country's history and about its division into different classes and communities. The toy world features folk dances, scenes from everyday life, and illustrations for books. The collection also has a special section devoted to the national costumes of other countries, which even includes dolls representing Russian women.
