This museum, opened in Hanoi relatively recently, has already managed to gain considerable popularity among both Vietnamese people and tourists.
What exactly prompted the creation of such an unusual collection in 1987 can only be guessed. It may be the significant role of Vietnamese women in the country's history and in shaping the cultural and moral traditions of society. And the active participation of women in numerous wars, where they were no less heroic than men. Or perhaps in Vietnam they simply love, honor, and respect the fair half of humanity, despite the historically established patriarchal way of life.
The museum features several tens of thousands of exhibits dedicated to women. Here you can see traditional clothing, wedding outfits, and jewelry. It is very interesting to examine household utensils and various everyday objects with which they created comfort in their families. The living conditions of Vietnamese women, and indeed of the entire people, were not always cloudless. The country long remained in the status of a colony and also lived through more than one war of liberation. Therefore, the appearance of such a museum can be considered a kind of gratitude from the people to their keepers of the hearth.
