There is only one functioning Hindu temple in Ho Chi Minh City, built to honor the mother goddess Mariamman. However, pilgrims come here from all over the world: it is believed that a prayer spoken here works miracles, and the sick who visit this place are healed immediately.
The construction of the Mariamman Temple at the end of the 19th century was initiated by the Tamil community living in the vicinity of Saigon. Now, however, it is most often visited by Chinese and Vietnamese people. Travelers can also visit this place — the main thing is to remove your shoes at the entrance and walk through the halls barefoot, as it is believed that street dust defiles the holy walls.
The interior of the Hindu temple is truly impressive: everything here is decorated with яркими paintings depicting Mariamman, the mother of all living things, and her entourage.
