Because of the unwieldy name Dai Nam Van Hien in Ho Chi Minh City, travelers most often simply call it the “Vietnamese Disneyland”.
The idea of creating a park in the country similar to those in Spain, Singapore, the USA, and Japan had emerged back in the 1990s, and in 1999 it was finally decided to start making the dream a reality.
Construction was completed in 2008, and on September 11 the largest amusement park in Vietnam, Dai Nam Van Hien, opened its doors to visitors. It is worth noting that this is not a traditional park in the usual sense of the word. In fact, it is an entire complex that includes:
a campsite, where you can take part in various outdoor activities or simply relax for an hour or two, an open-air zoo, home to about 76 species of various mammals, birds, and reptiles, a wonder park, where you can see Vietnam in miniature, as well as, of course, the amusement park itself with French carousels, roller coasters, and Chinese palaces with dragons.
The “Vietnamese Disneyland” can also delight visitors with a large number of restaurants and cafes, a water park, and a hotel.
