Legendary both in Finland and in Europe, the rock club "Tavastia" is known for live concerts by popular and up-and-coming musical groups. Opened in 1970, it has seen on its small stage such rock and metal idols as AC/DC, Nightwish, Black Sabbath, Tom Waits... Given the venue's small capacity - only about 700 seats - getting into concerts by famous performers is difficult, so you need to take care of tickets in advance.

Up-and-coming bands from the Scandinavian countries, Germany, France, and the USA perform on the stage of "Tavastia" every day. The main genres of music popular with the club's visitors are classic rock, rock and roll, punk rock, heavy metal, and blues, although other styles can also be heard here. Concert guests are very diverse: from students and workers to respectable businessmen and teachers - after all, everyone loves music. In the 1990s, another small stage, the club "Semifinal," opened in the basement hall of "Tavastia," where little-known or underground groups perform. It was here that the band HIM began its path to fame. Before their first concert on the stage for newcomers, they promised the club manager that they would soon draw a full house on the main stage of the rock club. Today HIM is the most popular band in Finland, and by tradition they have been giving a concert at "Tavastia" on New Year's Eve for many years in a row.
