At Zoo Negara, a variety of exotic fauna and flora awaits you - more than 5000 animals live here in enclosures and in free-range conditions.
The park is divided into 16 zones, and each of them is interesting in its own way. In a perfect copy of the wild savannah live zebras, ostriches, rhinoceroses, and giraffes; in the large lake, hundreds of swans, flamingos, and pelicans splash about. Lions and tigers do not sit behind bars in cages, but roam freely in a large enclosure, where the barrier is a water-filled moat between the predators and a low transparent fence, behind which visitors photograph the kings of nature.
You can even touch the less dangerous animals, as the barriers are low, and the animals are not afraid of people and curiously come closer.
The monkey park is one of the most popular sections of the zoo; orangutans, chimpanzees, and many other species of monkeys live here, entertaining children and adults alike with their antics.
Other themed zones are no less interesting - the reptile park, the freshwater aquarium, and the insect and butterfly park with species from all over the world.
Children are especially delighted to visit the petting area of the zoo, where they can touch, stroke, and cuddle fluffy rabbits, timid antelopes, funny coatis, and other tame animals.
But most of all, visitors to Zoo Negara love the local elephants, which are trained to perform various tricks and gladly show them to tourists.
