Have you ever been to a zoo at night? Probably not, since not only are they closed, but the question arises - what is there, actually, to do there after dark? The Singapore park "Night Safari," which opens only at 7 p.m., answers that question. For those who remember their school zoology course, it is no secret that most predators are nocturnal animals that go out hunting only after sunset and display social activity in the pack. That is why, when visiting the "daytime" zoos we are used to, tigers are more often lounging and sleeping in the sun than going about their tiger business.
The Singapore park "Night Safari" keeps precisely those animal species for which the night is the natural time of activity. So that visitors can observe how leopards, porcupines, and squirrel monkeys behave at night, a special lighting system has been created. The light, similar in brightness to a full moon but more насыщенный, does not disturb the animals; they behave as if they were in the wild.
There are no cages in the zoo in the traditional sense; the areas are separated by moats and plant barriers, and all of this has been done so skillfully that dangerous animals cannot harm people in any way, while at the same time they can be observed perfectly not through iron bars, but in all their glory.
The park's landscape is brought as close as possible to the natural conditions of each species. Visitors enjoy watching how big cats - servals - catch fish from the lakes, or how flying squirrels glide between the branches.
The tour of the night zoo takes place on a special tram, and after the ride along the main routes, you can take a walk along the small paths beside the enclosures.
