Cervecería (or simply the Catalana brewery) is one of Barcelona's most popular and frequently recommended establishments. They say that trying all the tapas options offered here is impossible even over several visits, but it is still worth trying to "embrace the impossible" and sample several different treats at once.
The selection includes meat, fish, and vegetable appetizers and, of course, the freshest seafood: you can order from the menu or walk up to the display case and choose the most appetizing-looking items.
This Catalan beer hall is known for good service and high-quality food and drinks. Excellent cuisine and affordable prices attract both tourists and locals, so be prepared to wait in line until one of the tables becomes available. By the way, you cannot reserve them in advance, but you can sit at the bar counter — that will be faster. Still, if you are not in a hurry, the warm friendly atmosphere, the noisy neighbors in line, and a glass of sangria will brighten the wait and give you new impressions.
If you definitely want to avoid the crowds, come here during the daytime — for a late breakfast or lunch. Cervecería Catalana is located not far from Avinguda Diagonal and the metro station of the same name. Still, you can also easily walk here, for example, from Plaça de Catalunya.
