The “Crescent” or “New Moon” project is being developed by “Vorobyov and Partners” for Zabeel Park. This highly advanced and completely eco-friendly building will become a worthy adornment of the park, carrying deep symbolic meaning for local residents.
For Arabs, the crescent, that is, the waxing new moon, is a symbol of growing strength and energy, which perfectly reflects the rapid development of the Emirates.
The crescent-shaped building will be decorated with Arabic calligraphy that can be read even from a great distance. This will emphasize the connection with traditions and roots, which remains very strong among Arabs despite the country’s status as one of the most modern in the world.
Inside the building, five levels are planned, each with an observatory, as well as conference halls, a library, and a cafe. The number of levels corresponds to the five pillars of Islam: Faith, Prayer, Almsgiving, Fasting, and Pilgrimage.
The Crescent is planned as a building impeccable in environmental terms - minimal energy consumption, optimal use of natural light and air currents.
The building promises to become a true symbol of the Emirates, as it combines faith and the traditions of the ancestors, has architectural and aesthetic value, and is a model of innovative technology.
