Among all the architectural and cultural attractions of Dubai, Jumeirah Mosque can confidently be called one of the main sites. It is one of the largest in the UAE and surpasses other religious buildings in importance.
Jumeirah Mosque was built in 1975-1979, and the main initiator of its creation was Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. During the construction of the mosque, the Fatimid style was used - that of an ancient Arab state of the 10th-12th centuries, thanks to which the mosque looks very colorful and authentic.
The Jumeirah building is a wonderful example of traditional Arab architecture. Everything here is monumental, the walls are decorated with elegant calligraphy, and since images of living creatures are forbidden, the men's hall is adorned with geometric patterns, while the women's hall features floral designs. In total, the space can accommodate up to 1300 people at the same time.
This is one of the few mosques open to non-Muslims. Photography is also allowed here by prior arrangement. The mosque is an essential stop on the itinerary of practically every guest of Dubai.
