Unique finds from ancient settlements were discovered in Dubai not so long ago during the construction of new homes. An archaeological research area now occupies more than 1000 sq.m, and it is of tremendous interest to scientists as well as guests and residents of Dubai.
Here are the remains of a mosque, a caravanserai, and a market, dating from various periods – from the 9th century to the 18th century. When you come here, you can see fragments of buildings, walls, roof structures, and the ruins of towers. All these finds confirm Dubai's importance in ancient times, when it was a major port of the Middle East. Ships from Iraq, Oman, and other great states of that time arrived here for trade and the exchange of goods, and many merchants settled here permanently.
In addition to the architectural structures, visitors are invited to view an exhibition featuring fragments of clay objects, ceramics, coins, and other works by ancient craftsmen. This exhibition is located in the "Heritage Village."
