The Dubai World Trade Centre exhibition center was the first exhibition complex in the Middle East. For more than 30 years, the largest international trade fairs and conferences have been held here.
DWTC was built in 1978 by order of Sheikh Rashid ibn Saeed Al Maktoum. At the time of construction, the center's main building was the tallest in Dubai – the height of the DWTC tower is 149 meters. Incidentally, this very building is depicted on the reverse side of the 100-dirham banknote.
At the moment, the World Trade Centre complex includes the main building, 8 exhibition halls, an international conference center, and a hotel complex.
Those who arrived in Dubai on business will especially appreciate the convenient location of the two hotels – Ibis and Novotel, as well as the apartments – a complex of separate flats with a full range of services.
For conferences and congresses, DWTC has a huge comfortable conference hall with 6500 seats, equipped with all kinds of technical facilities for presentations. A colorful feature of the complex is the Majlises – richly decorated meeting halls in the traditional Arab style.
Of course, the center also has all the infrastructure necessary for maximum visitor comfort: restaurants, cafes, lounge areas, and a huge parking lot.
