“Business Bay Crossing”, one of the four bridges crossing Dubai Creek, was built relatively recently - in 2007. More than 100 million US dollars were spent on its construction, but unlike Al Garhoud and Al Maktoum bridges, crossing here was made free, so if you want, you can save a little by taking a small detour of one and a half kilometers from Al Garhoud.
The bridge looks quite striking against the backdrop of traditional and modern Dubai development, while at the same time not clashing at all with the surrounding architecture. Much of the credit for this goes to the talented designers from the engineering and construction corporation Parsons. In total, more than 2500 workers of various specialties were involved in the construction of “Business Bay Crossing”.
The length of the bridge is 1.6 kilometers, and its capacity is 26,000 cars per hour. This makes it possible to significantly ease the increased traffic flow through Dubai Creek in recent years. In addition, three-meter-wide pedestrian walkways are equipped here.
You can use the bridge to get from the historic district of Deira to Dubai's business district of Business Bay and back, almost like going from the frying pan into the fire. Deira has a huge number of shops and entertainment centers, while Business Bay is known as Dubai's commercial center, perhaps not even inferior to Manhattan in terms of prestige.
