Gröna Lund Amusement Park in Stockholm is the oldest amusement park and fairground in Sweden. It was opened in 1883 on Djurgården Island.
Of course, children will enjoy the rides the most, but adults will also find plenty to see here. A haunted house, roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, a funhouse, shooting galleries, go-karting, a Viking ship, a shooting gallery, lotteries, kiosks with sweets...
Of the typically Scandinavian attractions, many prefer the “Fun House”: you have to make your way to it along a staircase that slides apart in different directions, and leave it on a mat that slides downward.
Visitors also love the “Broom” ride, created based on the Harry Potter books and films, where an entire family can soar through the air on brooms.
The “Eclipse” carousel (“Eclipse”), opened in the spring of 2013, deserves special attention. This 120-meter-tall ride has 12 two-person seats suspended on three-meter metal chains. The carousel’s maximum rotation speed reaches 70 km/h! From this, incidentally, tallest carousel in the world, there is an excellent view of the Swedish capital.
In addition, concerts by various jazz, pop, and rock performers are often held at Gröna Lund Amusement Park.
