Located in the Bur Dubai area, on the left bank of the Creek, is the Historical and Ethnographic Village, built in 1997. Here you can see archaeological finds, household items and weapons, as well as visit a Bedouin dwelling, a pearl divers' village, try national dishes, and ride a camel.
According to the plans of the current ruler of the emirate, the cultural appearance of the city will soon be recreated throughout the historic Shindagha district, taking us back to the times when traditional crafts — fishing and pearl diving — provided the main share of income for the people of Dubai.
In the pearl divers' village, people who practice this craft still live to this day. Its entrance is located on the side of Khaleej Road and the Shindagha embankment. Two anchors adorn the gates, and a fishing boat is positioned above them. Stopping by here, you will be able to see various types of transport used by fishermen and pearl divers, as well as visit an excellent fish restaurant.
