The Museum of Crystal and Lacquer Miniatures has existed in Vladimir since 1974 as part of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve. After the restoration of the famous Troitskaya Church, carried out in 1971-1973, exhibition halls were placed in it, intended to acquaint visitors with traditional artistic crafts. Vladimir Oblast has been rich in talent since ancient times, so the exhibitions are well worth visiting.
The elegant lacquer painting on various objects amazes with its masterful execution. You can immediately see how much work and inspiration went into these pieces.
The lacquer miniature exhibition is located on the second floor, while the first floor of the museum is occupied by the crystal exhibition. The items presented here are the fruit of the labor of masters from the city of Gus-Khrustalny. One can endlessly admire the exquisite works of these artisans; it seems that nothing is impossible for them. You will see tableware, souvenirs, and decorative crafts. The effect of their beauty is enhanced by the well-chosen lighting, playing with magical highlights on the crystal facets. This exhibition covers the entire period of the history of the Gusev Crystal Factory - from the middle of the 18th century to the present day.
